Handtrans began as a single-truck operation in Elsham in 1996, founded by Melvin Hand. Since those early days, we’ve grown steadily—expanding into groupage, multi-drop, warehousing, and full distribution services—to become a trusted partner for businesses across the UK.
Our Journey
- 1996 — Handtrans is founded, starting with just one vehicle and a vision for better customer-focused haulage.
- 2002 — Expansion continues with investment in larger premises, an enlarged fleet, and a 40,000 sq ft warehouse facility.
- 2004 — We join the Palletforce network, enabling us to offer nationwide pallet distribution with speed and efficiency.
- 2022 — The company is taken over by the management team, Luke Hand and Kieran Repton, ushering in a new era of growth and innovation.
- 2025 — We join a second network, Palletways, giving customers even more flexibility and capacity for pallet distribution.
- 2025— We’ve launched an Express Distribution service, providing even faster delivery options to meet the demand for Same-day and time-critical transport.
